Red Flag Warning from 8/16/2023 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM PDT for Mendocino County

The National Weather Service Forecast shows that temperatures will reach above 100 degrees today and tomorrow. Extreme heat can cause serious health-related problems so it’s key to recognize a heat-related emergency and treat it before it becomes life-threatening. Signs of Heat Exhaustion include Dizziness, Thirst, Heavy Sweating, Nausea, and Weakness.  Signs of Heat Stroke include Confusion, Dizziness, and Becoming Unconscious. If you or someone you know is suffering from heat-related illness move to a cooler area, remove excess layers of clothing, drink some water, and seek medical attention.

There is a potential for thunderstorms today in the northern portions of the county. Check the weather forecast for your area before going out.

Extreme heat means more potential for wildfires. Take necessary precautions to prevent starting a fire. Maintain situational awareness and look out for any emergency alerts. If you see signs of fire, report it.
