3D Printing at Ukiah Library

Post Date:07/26/2018 1:27 PM

The Ukiah Branch Library has a 3D printer that is available for library patrons to print objects. The Mendocino County Library has made this 3D printer available to library patrons as part of our mission to bring new and emerging technologies to the community, and to inspire digital design and creation.

Mendocino County Library cardholders can make an appointment with a staff member to print a 3D object. Bring your digital file (.STL files only) on a USB flash drive to a staff member at the Ukiah Library and fill out a 3D Print Request Form. Your file will be 3D printed and staff will call/email you when it is ready for pickup. 3D printing is free for library patrons. The Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request.

Staff can also help you design your own 3D object using free online software such as Tinkercad (www.tinkercad.com) during a 3D printing appointment or at one of the Library’s 3D Printing workshops. Call 707-463-4490 to schedule an appointment.

3D printing is open to Mendocino County Library cardholders with accounts in good standing. Ages 13+, or under 13 with parent/guardian supervision and assistance required. Printing is limited to 1 object at a time, and 1 object per month per person. Additional restrictions apply, see the Mendocino County Library 3D Printing Guidelines available at the Ukiah Library for more information.
