HOW DOES ANIMAL CARE SERVICES SPEND DOG LICENSING REVENUE?

 

  • A total of 10,729 pet licenses were sold in FY18-19 totaling in $353,000 in revenue.

  • Pet License revenues generated is approximately 50% of the Animal Shelters overall yearly revenue.

  • Pet License revenue assisted in paying for a part of the (12) full-time & (4) part-time employee’s salaries that work at the Ukiah & Fort Bragg Animal Shelters and on the Mobile Caravan Spay & Neuter Vehicle.

  • Pet License revenues assisted in paying for a part of 3,049 spay & neuter surgeries performed in the Animal Shelter Clinic & Mobile Caravan in FY18-19.

  • Pet License revenues assisted in paying for a part of 5,530 vaccinations given in the Animal Shelter Clinic & Mobile Caravan in FY18-19.

  • Pet License revenues assisted in paying for a part of the medical, food & board fees associated with adopting 738 animals in FY18-19.

  • Pet License revenues assisted in paying for a part of the medical, food & board fees associated with transferring 446 animals to other animal rescue organizations and animal shelters.

Animal Care Services encourages all dog owners in the county to do their part and license their dogs.  The direct result is Animal Care Services will be able to achieve positive results thus producing a healthier pet community.
