The Mendocino County Museum is hosting a Curator-led Tour of the exhibit and a Forum on the future of Main Street, in which panelists will reflect on the possibilities for--and opinions about--the future of commerce and culture in Willits. Admission is free to this event.
Beginning at 3:00 pm, join Kim Bancroft on a curator-led tour of the Main Street: Then & Now Exhibit. Stroll back in time as the Museum’s Long Gallery has been transformed through a visually fascinating and historically informative exhibit on the history of Willits, with a focus on Main Street architecture, commerce, and culture. The accompanying texts and other images tell the history of Willits--its commerce and culture--beginning with the Native Americans of Little Lake Valley and continuing through the early days of ranching, farming, and logging, and development of various businesses. The exhibit and accompanying text panels include a history for each site and enlivening commentary from oral histories and interviews that guest curators Kim Bancroft and Judi Berdis researched through archival records and interviews.
Afterwards, at 4:15 pm, Kim Bancroft will moderate the Main Street Willits: Then, Now & Tomorrow Forum with a panel of guest speakers who represent various current interests within Willits:

- Arts
- Real Estate Development
- Cannabis Industry
- Native Americans and Environmental Concerns
